Sunflower House is a fully certified Passive House in the town of Dundas, Ontario. The house is long and narrow, to fit onto the skinny lot that slopes down to the south at the back of the house.
Strategically placed windows and shading elements, as well as a robust building envelope, ensure that the house can meet the Passive House standard. The surfaces area of the main house roof, as well as the covered southern patio roof will be home to a solar array that can generate significant electricity to power the home and feed back into the grid whenever a surplus of electricity is achieved.
